Hello! I'm Katie, a senior at MIT from the Philadelphia area studying MechE & CS, and minoring in economics. I got my start in engineering through my high school FIRST robotics team. I really enjoyed applying concepts that I'd learned about in school -- math, physics, programming, and more -- to create solutions to solve a challenge. I also became passionate about inclusivity in engineering and STEM in general, and started a program at a local elementary school to introduce elementary aged girls to coding.

Since coming to MIT, I've had extraordinary experiences, met insanely cool people, and learned so much. I'm passionate about giving back and using innovative technologies to make the world better for others.

Outside of academics, I'm on the MIT Varsity Swimming & Diving team and on the Club Water Polo team. I'm currently serving as President of SHINE for Girls*, a math mentorship program for girls and non-binary middle school students in the Boston area. I'm on the executive board of my sorority, and I am a part of the Gordon Leadership Program for engineering leadership at MIT. I've been a Resident Peer Mentor for the freshmen in my dorm, and a Lab Assistant for a freshman seminar. I love to travel and experience new places, foods, and cultures. I spent the past summer in Switzerland and would love to go back to work or study there at some point in my career.
